2023 PCBA Foundation Scholarship
Since 2005 the Polk County Builders Association Foundation (PCBAF) has established an annual scholarship program to assist Polk County public high school students, technical schools’ students and higher education students further their construction-oriented education. This program targets students because there are so many jobs in the construction-oriented sector, which cannot be filled by a student with today’s “general education.”
It is the intent of the PCBAF to continue our tradition of awarding scholarships to students in and throughout Polk County. These scholarships are to be applied toward the cost of books, tuition and/or tools required of a student pursuing education in construction related courses.
Applications are to be made available through the local instructors and through the assistance of the Polk Education Foundation (PEF). The disbursement of all scholarship funds awarded from the PCBAF goes through the PEF.

What is The PCBA Foundation?
The Polk County Builders Association Foundation began as a committee in 1995 giving back to the Polk County community through school partnerships and community outreach projects. In 2004 the board of directors led by then President Brian Waller formed the not for profit Polk County Builders Association Foundation.
The Foundation supported many activities including school field trips, mentorships, classroom speakers and the Future Builders of America Clubs in the high schools. The Future Builders of America Clubs partnered with Noah’s Ark in 2007 to build a home for handicapped adults, an entire home bottom to top. The Foundation also has supported the Blueprint and Model Competition, now in its 22nd year, and student scholarships awarding more than $185,000.00 over the years in prizes, grants and scholarships. You may not know this but the PCBA Foundation created the very FIRST partnership with the Polk County School Board that has since been followed by over 1,000 business including Publix, Watson Clinic, Lakeland Electric….and more during this time.
